Noni, No ni, Nonie, Nony…What is this fruit anyway?

Noni is the Hawaiian common name for Morinda citrifolia L., an evergreen tree or shrub which produces distinctive, lumpy-looking fruits. The noni plant is native from southeastern Asia to Australia and is widely distributed throughout the tropics. It is considered to be one of the most important medicinal plants of the Pacific Islands. Other common names for the plant include: Indian mulberry, kura, nin, monii, dog dumpling, cheese fruit, pain killer and pain bush.
