Organically Raised Foods-A Choice From the Heart

The choices we make in our diet can have a remarkable effect on our body weight and health in general.Quite often shoppers in the supermarkets see organic food products but usually do not pay very much attention at them, mostly due to cost of money and lack of knowledge.Read on...
Before the 20th century all fruits and vegetables unless wild, had to be produced the hard way, there was not intelligent machinery and they had to be grown with the help of big animals or even manually and always depending on the weather conditions.
But with the dawn of the new century, things quickly started to change.New advancements in technology and medicines interfered and changed the scenery.New tools and big trucks made the life easier for the farmers(No more need of big animals and heavy work). But this was the only good part. Many farmers began practicing new methods of cultivating the ground with the help of fertilizers and pesticides and also started feeding their animals with foods that contained hormones and antibiotics, mostly for one reason:The big target was to increase production and overall business.
The results were more than encouraging, the production literally exploded;the profits hit the roof and many big companies got involved in.Today you can find a surplus of choice in every super market and food store. But with a small and important exception: this big choice of foods is not necessarily healthy. You see the important thing at that time was quantity but not quality, unfortunately that very much remains today.
Only a small percentage of farmers remained true to their origins and decided to continue to this very day, providing us with respectful to nature products, under the name organic.Organic fruits and vegetables have been found with higher amounts of vitamins and minerals than any conventional ones, which are continually showered with pesticides and other dangerous for the health chemicals.
The difference of animals organically raised and conventionally raised is big not only in nutritional value but also in ethical value:In conventional farms(big factory farms) all animals are fed with food powders full of grain, hormones and antibiotics in order to grow as fast as possible and without sickness(max 14-16 months old).
Something that is impossible while living in appalling conditions, usually stuffed in cages, never able to see the real light of day and with no time to rest.I have read some horror stories, where in big factory farms, chickens and other animals are inside these prisons with lights on 24/7. All this suffering and it's results are passed on to those who eat the meat.Even in farmed fish terms and conditions are no different. In the other hand, in organic farms things are simple and natural, the animals are allowed to roam free in a clear and natural enviroment. They are treated with respect and let grown normal.
So the choice of Organically Grown Foods is not so hard to take after all, because this choice comes straight from the heart of every single man who knows. It's the same choice like when you decide to keep clean the enviroment instead of polluting it,it's the choice of doing something good than bad.But it also lies in real facts:more and more studies come to the same conclusion;organic products are more nutritious and safe to eat.In a recent study, Organically grown foods are found to be much higher in antioxidants than the conventional ones which are always getting showered with pesticides and other chemicals.Farmed fish is also better to be avoided for the same reasons.
The potential health dangers you face every time you eat conventional foods are not to be taken lightly:allergies, kinds of cancer, weak immune system, infertility, premature ageing, unknown super viruses are some of them. Most recently,i read in the news about the case of a top cyclist that had been found positive in an anabolic substance, but after many exams they found out that it was not his fault, but because accidentally he had taken it, from a food he ate.
Comparing prices of organic foods with cheap conventionally raised foods is not fair at all.Because everything organic takes much more effort to produce and is also not funded by the big brands, so it is understandingly more expensive but not in everything;some products like organic coffee, tea or tomato sauce, they are equally or even cheaper sometimes than the conventional ones. The great taste and durability of organic foods is also something that cannot be compared.Quality is always more important than quantity.
Imagine how powerful will be this combination for you:healthy organic food and exercise, what more do you want? It's up to us to make better choices not only for us but for the enviroment we live too. There is a big picture here that i am trying for everybody to catch;that is our connection with nature. It's the whole balance;the stronger the bond with nature, the healthier and happier we will all be.
